APT offers classroom and online training on safe tattooing. Many other technical classes are taught by member volunteers with a tenured experience in the Tattoo trade.
The Preventing Disease Transmission in Tattooing (PDTT) course is a comprehensive bloodborne pathogen course for professional tattoo artists and apprentices. We also invite Health Department employees to take it free of charge. It provides in-depth training on infection control, microbiology, disease prevention, sterilization, and disinfection, tailored to the tattoo industry. Participants gain essential knowledge to ensure client and artist safety, addressing concerns like bloodborne pathogens and skin infections, while meeting health and safety standards.
